2025 Season

The Ellen Terry Barn Theatre’s 2025 season offered an eclectic mix of productions, blending literary adaptations, historical drama, and classic theatre. Highlights included The Lost Gospel of Pontius Pilate, read by Maxwell Caulfield, which reimagined biblical history through a provocative lens, and Lord Byron: Dangerous to Know, a brooding exploration of the poet’s turbulent life. The season also featured Room (A Room of One’s Own), a stirring adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s feminist essay adapted and performed by the commanding Heather Alexander.

The programme balanced contemporary relevance with theatrical tradition. Educating Rita brought Willy Russell’s sharp wit and class commentary to the stage, while Little Women, performed by Hotbuckle, offered a dynamic retelling of Louisa May Alcott’s beloved novel. The annual summer production brought Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream back to the stage for the second year in succession, and The Haunting delivered gothic chills to close the season. Altogether, the 2025 season celebrated storytelling in its many forms, honouring Ellen Terry’s legacy while engaging modern audiences with emotional depth and dramatic flair.
